Description: The Merwin family has lived in Sleepy Hollow New York Since 1776. Their Ancestor Glenn Merwin was a Solider during the Battle of the White Plains and helped behead the Hessian trooper that would eventually be known as the Headless Horseman. Isla Merwin started dating Gabrielle Clarke seventeen years ago, a relationship that was kept a secret for a year because Gabrielle hadn't 'come out' to her parents yet. When she did an argument broke out and she was kicked out, upset she went to Isla's house causing them to move in together. A year later they became Foster parents to an adorable girl named Ava. Four years ago the two got married, and even though Gabrielle invited her parents the two never showed up, she hasn't officially spoken with them since they kicked her out sixteen years ago. 

• Isla and Gabrielle have been together for seventeen years, having been officially married for four. The two met while they were waiting in a very long line for coffee at a Starbucks one morning. The two love each other so much, its obvious to everyone. Its the kind of love where you can tell just by watching them. 
• She can be a little over protective most sometimes and is the enforcer of the rules. She needs to know where the kids are at all times, if her kids say they are going to one place but are actually going to another, all Hell breaks loose. She has a Tracker on both of the kids phone so if they ever lie to her she knows where they are. 
• She is not to be called Ma'am at work but is instead called Sir. She is known for being really hard on everyone at work, but that's only because she demands results.
• Is running for Mayor in this years election. 
• Ava and Micah may not be her kids by blood but she doesn't care, she will always call them her Son and Daughter. There was this one teacher, when Ava was eleven who didn't think they were her real parents and vocalized it, and Isla ended up getting said teacher in a lot of trouble. 
• Was on a date with her wife we she got a phone call from Detective Crane who told her about the murder at her son's party. Gabby also got a call from Ava who begged her to come and pick her up from the Cemetery where she also found a body. 
• Didn't personally know Henry or Caroline, however she did bump into the homeless man once or twice. 
• Name Meaning: Islay; Island. Pronounced Eye-la.

• When Ava was first brought into their home Gabrielle and Ava bonded immediately which caused Isla to be slightly insecure, though Ava did warm up to Isla eventually. In fact it was Gabby who first brought up the idea of officially adopting Ava.
• Her love of children is well known around Sleepy Hollow. In fact she was approached by an upset Freya Van Tassel who revealed that she was pregnant. She asked Gabby if her and Isla would adopt her unborn child because she didn't want to abort it but didn't want it to get lost in the system. Shocked Gabby said she would discuss it with Isla but that she makes no promises. She is currently waiting for the right time to ask. 
• She may not be the strict parent but she also isn't a push over, she will back Isla up if she thinks the punishment fits the crime. If she thinks Isla is being too harsh she will pull her off to the side and discuss a lighter punishment for the kids. 
• Gabrielle is an English Professor at Sleepy Hollow University and loves her job and her students. She is known for being flexible and willing to work with her students, but only if they deserve it, if they are slacking off just to slack off she will be a lot harsher. 
• She didn't know any of the victims personally. 
• Was on a date with her wife when Isla got a call about a murder that happened at Micah's party. Gabby also got a call from Ava who was extremely upset and begged her to come to the Cemetery to pick her up.

• She was dropped off at a local hospital when she was 6 years old. Her first and only foster home was with the Merwins who adopted her officially when she was 9 years old. She doesn't remember her parents, however she is currently trying to find them. Isla, Gabrielle and Micah are unaware of this. 
• She is a big fan of Helena Davis from Channel 8 Action News and hopes to be as great as her one day.
• She is extremely stubborn and will get the story no matter what. 
• Despite the fact that she didn't trust Micah at first, and threatened to hurt him if he hurt her Moms (she didn't know why he was sent to Juvie so she immediately thought the worst) she considers them to be very close.  
• She runs a semi-popular Youtube Channel/Blog with her best friends Conor and Caleb Burnswick and Eloise Van Tassel. The Channel/Blog touches on various topics however it is mostly news related when it comes to Ava.

• It was her idea to go into the cemetery on the night of the triple homicide. They were covering a story about Major Andre at Hangman Tree when her friend Eloise tripped on a root and fell on top of John Doe's headless body.

• Was brought into the Merwin home when he was 16 years old, the Merwins being his 6th Foster Home and the longest he has stayed at. 
• He was sent to a juvenile detention center on four separate occasions: once being when he was 12, then again at 13, shortly after being released he went back in and celebrated his 14th birthday in a JDC, and then when he was 15. His last stint at the JDC was what got him placed with the Merwins.
• Micah was born in the state of Washington, which is all he knows about his place of origin. His births records were sealed the day he was born and he has no interest in going off to search for the people who didn't want him.
• He lives in the dorms at Sleepy Hollow University and was the one throwing the party where Henry Irving was murdered. His Foster Moms weren't very happy.
• He was keeping Audrey company when the Murders Occurred. 
• How he knew Henry, Caroline and/or the homeless man is up to you.
